Stabilizing the convective terms in NS Equations

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hello,

I an having some difficulties implementing a modification in the Mixture Model.

When i am using a solid phase to liquid phase density ration of 2.5, the convective terms in the NS equations become very difficult to sabilize.

Let me further explain: without the modification I am implementing (Low Reynolds closure) there is no problem, but after the modification I have add Isotropic Diffusion to get a convergence. And although I have increased the upwind factors form 0.5 to 1.0 and the consistently decreased the isotropic diffusion factor, there is still some oscillations.

Can anyone point me or give some input on how to increase the stability.
I have refined the mesh and increased the upwind factors, and even used isotropic diffusion.

Best Regards,

Rui Silva
