Matlab: Geometry sweep; mphm-files

How can I force COMSOL not to save the geometry in mphm files or how can I read and modify such files?
I want to use Matlab for parameter sweeps i.e. changing the geometry. When exporting some of the models to matlab, the geometry is stored in extra mphm files, which can't be modified with matlab.
