We at COMSOL create our own simulation software and provide it to technically-based companies, government enterprises, national labs, and academic research teams. Our flag-ship product, COMSOL Multiphysics®, is the premier modeling tool that simulates applications in almost all engineering industries and scientific disciplines, especially those involving multiple and simultaneous physics phenomena.

COMSOL, Inc. is looking for a Technical Account Manager or Sales Engineer that will be able to inform, support, and provide engineers and scientists on the usefulness of simulation in general, and the COMSOL software in particular.

Responsibilities

  • Use your insight, communication skills, and technical acumen to proactively interact with prospective and current customers.
  • Methodically identify and qualify simulation requirements and motivate integration of the COMSOL software to satisfy these through running demonstrations, providing or creating example models, and supporting evaluations of the software.
  • Articulate business cases for the unique qualities of COMSOL software, explain licensing models, and discuss terms and conditions.
  • Maintain honest and lasting relationships with existing users and customers.
  • Identify new prospective customers in related fields and companies to existing customers.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s, master’s, or doctorate degree in engineering, a physical science, or business with an aptitude for sales.
  • Excellent communication skills on the phone, in person, and in writing.
  • Ability and willingness to travel for limited times in order to run or assist in running COMSOL-sponsored events and activities in North and South America.
  • Current eligibility to work in the U.S.

Preferred additional experiences

  • Experience in working within technology-based companies, research organizations, or academic institutions.
  • General knowledge of the nature and processes of some or many engineering and technical industries.
  • Specific technical competence in either mechanical, fluid flow, electrical, acoustics, design, or chemical engineering fields, or related technical fields (this is a requirement for a role as Technical Account Manager).
  • Prior sales or customer service experience.
