Anechoic Coating

Application ID: 44201

Anechoic coatings are used for lowering visibility to sonars, for example on submarines. This model calculates the reflection, absorption, and transmission properties of an anechoic coating on a steel plate. The calculated results from this sub-model can be used in larger system scale models, for example, by applying an impedance boundary condition.

The considered setup was presented in V. Leroy, A. Strybulevych, M. Lanoy, F. Lemoult, A. Tourin, and J. H. Page: ”Superabsorption of acoustic waves with bubble metascreens,” Phys. Rev. B 91, 020301(R), 2015.
