Reliable Structures and Wearable Systems Call for Multiphysics Simulation

Lucia Zullino, STMicroelectronics, Italy

At STMicroelectronics, engineers use numerical simulation to optimize semiconductor solutions for a wide range of use cases, such as developing a sensor for analyzing concrete health and ensuring the accuracy of a bioimpedance meter. In the case of the bioimpedance meter, an electromagnetic simulation in the frequency domain was modeled to assess the effect of electrode shape and position on the accuracy of measured physiological parameters. The goal was to develop a wearable configurable patch capable of indicating physiological changes.
