Dependent variables in Biot Poroelasticity or boundary conditions

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hi,

There are four variables when I choose Earth Science Module -> Poroelasticity -> Plane Strain, Pressure: p u2 v2 p2
Pressure in the solid frame, Vx and Vy velocities and fluid pressure (in 2D case). But I want to neglect body forces in my model.

My model is a solid cube of porous rock filled with water in the centered sphere, all the other surrounding pores are filled with air. I press it uniformly on every external boundary. But finally I get something, that it is not uniformly deformed: I've got indefinable cracks in y-direction.

I assume that the problem is with boundary conditions or it also can be some forces that act somewhere (body forces) that I didn't neglect. I've tried to check every setting carefully, but didn't find my mistake. Can anyone help me to define whether my problem is in forces or in boundary conditions?

Thanks!
