Best combination for transient incompressible navier stokes eqn???

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

I finished a transient simulation with bifurcation geometry based on velocity inlet and traction free boundary condition.

But I changed the boudnary condition as the following;

inlet: from velocity curve to pressure curve

outlet: tranction free to flow rate

The previous boundary case was successful to converge and it looks like reasonable results. But the other boundary combination cause convergence error after several time steps.

In both cases I calculated stationary step and based on this result the transient silumation was run.

Is the combination of pressure for inlet and flow rate for outlet a worst case in comsol?

I have to apply this boundaries to simulate FSI model.

I really appreciate any comments for this problem. Thanks in advance.
