Frequency Response Analysis for a prestressed structure

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Dear everyone,

I'm new member of this community. I started modeling with COMSOL about 6 months ago.

I'm modeling a beam on which a piezoelectric patch (PZT) is bonded to analyze the piezoelectric effects. I would like to analyze the frequency response of electro-mechanical impedance from PZT when the beam is tensile. The problem is in frequency response, every variables are in harmonic form, whereas the tensile force is a static force. I've tried to make a sequence in which I run the static first, and used the static solution as initial values for frequency reponse. But it was not right since initial values seem to be in harmonic form.

I've read some discussion about how to analyze frequency response for prestressed structure, but there was not any clear solution.

If someone knows about this, please help me. I'm working with version 3.5 and 4.0

Thanks
