how to solve the problem of corner diffraction when create the TM plane wave

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

I tried to simulate an ideal TM plane wave (only Hz component exists in H field). Follow the tutorial example of dielectric scattering,

On the edge of the domain, set magnetic field Hz=1;
The domain is surrounded by Perfect matched layer.

Theoretically, there must be only Ey field, but I can see the corner diffraction pattern on the Ex field, which results on non-ideally uniform TM plane wave.

The attached files are my mph file and Ex, Ey, Hz field images.

My question is:
Can we diminish or reduce this corner diffraction effect?

Thanks in advance!
