Hi everyone,

I am new to the concepts of electrochemistry and COMSOL. Currently, I am trying to simulate the electrochemical reduction of CO2 into formic acid using an electrolyzer. I've successfully drawn the geometry and defined the reactions and domains, but I'm facing challenges in applying electric potentials in COMSOL. Additionally, I'm struggling to understand the initial values of the tertiary current distribution, particularly 'phi_l' and 'phi_s'. Could anyone help me gain a clearer understanding of these terms, and offer suggestions regarding the concepts and voltage aspects of the electrolyzer?

So far, my exploration has included cyclic voltammetry, as well as adding electric potential and electric ground to the current distribution. However, I'm uncertain if I'm on the right track.

Any ideas, suggestions, or relevant papers would be immensely appreciated. Thank you!
